Description

General purpose silicone is used for sealing, waterproofing, and bonding applications where protection is needed against mould and mildew. The Soudal categorize silicone with respect to their applications. Comes in roof and gutter for external use as it is UV protected. The bathroom and kitchen is better for internal usage as it does not provide UV resistance but offers excellent mould resistance which is ideal for wet and damp environment. Glass and Glazing offers extreme adhesion with UV resistance as it can be used externally as well. The All-purpose silicone is a mixture all the three types and offers all the properties of three combined.

 

The all-purpose silicone is suited for most of the common materials including ceramics, glass, aluminium (powder coated and anodised), PVC, stainless steel, zinc, galvanised coated surfaces, timber, brick, concrete, fiberglass, laminated, painted surfaces, etc. It can be used externally and internally depending upon the properties of the specific product. It gives best results on clean non-porous surfaces with Soudal cleaner and de-greaser.

 

Soudal offers a high quality, flexible, neutral cure silicone suitable for a wide range of application including bathroom and kitchen for sealing baths, sinks, toilets, showers, tiles, plumbing fixtures, glass, tiles, etc. Roof and gutters for sealing and guttering, flashings, cladding, roofing, down pipes, ducting lap joints, sheet metal etc. The all-purpose silicone comes in different colorbond colors to match up withthe roofing and claddings. Also comes in black, brilliant white and clear. The glass and glazing for sealing around windows, display cabinets, frames and architraves etc.

 

All the silicone Soudal offers are neutral cure which mean they are cured by the moisture in the air and hence they can be used in damp or wet areas as well. They are not paintable, but they come in a wide range of colorbond colors. Soudal also manufactures heat resistant silicone which are to be used on high temperature areas such as oven tops or around stoves.

We also stock the high temperature silicone and sealants. Silirub HT-A Acetic Cure Black comes in a standard 310ml cartridge or in a box of 15. They are designed to withstand temperatures up to 285oC.

 

Firecement HT – Black also comes in a cartridge or box of 15. This one is designed to withstand a scorching temperature of up to 1500oC. The firecement is rather hard and offers very minimal flexibility.
