Wall Plugs are used when fasteneing to masonry or brick structures. The Wall Plug is placed into a predrilled hole and expands when a screw is tightened into it. The plastic plugs are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Available in a range of sizes.
WALL PLUGS AND SPAGHETTI
Description
The wall plugs are an easy, quick and efficient way of concrete fixings. It is a mechanical fastening technique which involves a nylon plug with groves on the outer surface, inserted into concrete and fastened by a timber screw. They can work into concrete, masonry wall, hollow bricks, solid bricks, plasterboard, Gyprock and stone.
The wall plugs are a very common type of fixing for electrical connections, clips and clamps, switchboards, light frames etc. It is used very commonly among builders and plumbers for fixing brackets, timber studs, tracks, window frames, pipe supports, installing roller doors, flyscreens, blinds and curtains, etc. Its very versatile and used by pretty much all the trades.
When you screw a timber fastener into the wall plug it expands and grabs the concrete. It comes in few different types and style for various applications. The standard wall plug comes in different sizes as their drill size. Then there is a continuous roll known as spaghetti. It can be cut into sizes as you need. The universal wall plugs are for general application. For plasterboard they are called wall mates having a large flanged head and big coarse thread.
What The Fastener Factory Stocks
The Fastener Factory stocks a wide range of the standard wall plugs some of the common sizes. Ranging from 6mm to 12mm with most common lengths that are 25mm, 35mm and 50mm. They come in frame pack of 25pc or a box of 1000s or 500s depending on the size of the plug.
The Spaghetti comes in rolls of 5m or 50m in 5mm(green) and 5.5mm(red)
The Plastic wall plugs Pantha 8 Guage is a nylon wall mate for plasterboards and drywalls. It comes in a metal wall mate as well. It is designed to take a 8 or 7 gauge plasterboard screw.
Then we have got the universal wall plugs which are heavy duty plugs for pretty much all kinds of applications. The have a tapered point and have flaps on the side to give better grip in the concrete.
