What is RoHS Compliance?

RoHS is a product level compliance based on the European Union's Directive 2002/95/EC, the Restriction of the Use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS).

The European Union (EU) Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive regulates the use of certain chemicals in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment.

However, there are exceptions — and exemptions to the exceptions. Are you required to find an alternative substance, or do your products fall under an exemption with a predetermined transition period.
