The threaded shank is inserted into a pre-drilled hole and the nut is threaded on to the shank to fasten the material. The Galvanised Cup head bolt is also known as a Carriage Bolt or Coach Bolt. The Galvanised Cup head bolt is often used in timber frames, furniture, fencing and retaining walls. The square under head locks the head into timber preventing the head from spinning when tightened.
