AISI 316 marine grade stainless steel balustrading is a durable, low maintenance safety option for your deck, fence, vernada, pergola or staircase. The Fastener Factory has a wide range of marine grade stainless steel (316) wire and DiY fittings to complete your wire balustrade solution. There are three main types of stainless steel marine grade (316) wire.
1.) 7 x 7 wire rope is 7 individual strands of wire twisted into a substrand, there are 7 seperate substrands forming a total of 49 wires. 7x7 stainless steel wire is a super strong and flexible, thus ideal for use with manual and hydraulically swagged fittings.
2.) 1 x 19 wire rope is 19 indivually stranded wire which forms one super strand. The 1x19 stainless steel wire is recommend only for use with hydraulically swaged fittings. The 1x19 wire is not as felixble as 7x7 stainless wire.
3.) 7 x 19 wire rope consists of 7 substrands of 19 wires forming a commericial strength wire of 133 individual wires. Whilst the 7 x 19 stainless steel marine grade wire can be used for balutrade, it is more commonly used in lifting and pulling machinery.
